Rippon
Rippon is the farm voice of a distinct parcel of land. On the western board of Rob's Bay, Lake Wanaka, Rippon's north-facing escarpment forms the meeting point of terminal moraines and coarse gravels, all based on schist, on which some of the earliest vines were planted by Rolf Mills, the third generation of his family on the farm, in 1975. The Mills family continues to farm this remarkable piece of land ( the 'Most photographed vineyard in the world') today, utilizing biodynamic farming and no irrigation.
Fully mature pinot noir vines at Rippon have produced world-class and highly sought-after Pinot Noirs.
